What is a Zoning System?
A zoning system consists of multiple thermostats, wired to one or more control panels, which regulate the airflow in and out of the “zones” in your home or office by opening and closing a series of dampers. The dampers control the flow of air in and out of the rooms in each zone. The rooms in each zone are grouped according to their usage and conditioning needs.
Why Install a Zoning System?
If used correctly, a properly installed zoning system can save you up to 30% on your heating and cooling bill each season. It supports a consistent temperature in your living space or different temperatures or “climates” for each zone as desired. By only heating or cooling the rooms that are needed, you can cut back on much of the energy that is used to reach your ideal comfort level.
Is a Zoning System Right for My Home?
There are a number of factors involved in determining if a zoning system is appropriate or available for your home. One of our Answer Heating & Cooling technicians can inspect your home and determine if a zoning system is appropriate and possible to install.
We recommend Arzel zoning systems.
