What is a boiler?
A boiler is a fuel-burning appliance for containing and heating water.
What types of boilers are there?
There are two main types of boilers, a hot water boiler and a steam boiler. Most homes will use a hot water boiler while larger structures will use a steam boiler. If you have an older house you may have a steam boiler in your home.
Boilers are also categorized by the kind of fuel they burn. There are gas burning, oil burning, wood burning, coal burning, electric and dual use boilers.
How do boilers work?
Boilers heat the home through radiators, baseboard heat or radiant floor heating and can heat water for use in the home. There are multiple boiler applications for commercial use.
